Counseling
Early and Pre-Pregnancy Consultation
Counseling sessions are available for women (with or without their partners) who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The discussions center on choice of birth care providers and birthplace, medical interventions and choices, and creating a healthy pregnancy and staying low risk.

Prenatal Counseling
The goal of our prenatal counseling program is to address a woman’s special needs as she makes the transition through pregnancy and birth to motherhood. The counseling consists of four sessions. Three are prenatal sessions and one is a postpartum session. Topics are covered as follows: Initial Birth Counselor Interview; Pregnancy Bonding and Childbirth; Coping with the Natural Pain of Labor; and Adjustment to Motherhood.
Additional counseling sessions are available for past birth or childbirth trauma and painful circumstances of childhood or present family relations.
