About Seventh Moon
Our Philosophy
- We believe pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy processes.
- We believe that the knowledge of how to birth exists within every woman and therefore seek to instill in the mother confidence in her innate ability to give birth.
- We believe in providing women and their partners the information necessary to make educated choices regarding pregnancy, labor, birth and parenting.
- We believe that babies are unique individuals who come into this world with a profound physical and spiritual connection to their mothers, which should be nurtured. We strive to facilitate attachment and foster this bond, insuring that a baby’s needs are met.
- We believe that women and men have an intuitive ability to nurture. We encourage the new mother and father as they develop the confidence necessary to tap into these innate gifts and care for their child.
- We believe that the loving support, practical assistance and information we provide can ease the transition from couple to family.
- We believe that mothering through breastfeeding is ideal. Breastfeeding is the most natural way to meet a baby’s needs for nourishment and security.
- We believe that the ancient tradition of women helping women through the childbearing year as mentors and assistants is essential to a positive birth experience and positive parenting.
